Magog, Scythians, and Ireland

On Ancient History

Introduction:
This paper is to be a synopsis of the earliest histories of Ireland, tracing the migrations from Noah and his children through Magog. Dates given are in AM (number of years from creation) and AF (number of years after the flood).

1796 AM - 140 AF
The first exploration of Ireland was by Adhna son of Bioth of the family of Nin son of Bél. He came to spy out the land, but did not stay long but went back to his clan to give an account of it. He never returned to the island.

1956 AM - 300 AF
Partholón, son of Sera, son of Sru, son of Esru, son of Fraimint, son of Fathacht, son of Magog, son of Japheth, son of Noah was the first to occupy the island. Partholon came with Dealgnaid, his wife, and their three sons, Rudhruidhe, Slangha, and Laighlinne, with their wives, and a host of about a thousand. (One account says it was 22 years before Abraham was born but another says 30 years after his birth. In 300 AF Abraham would be 8 years old.) The seventh year after the occupation of Ireland by Partholón, the first man of his people died, namely, Feadha, son of Tortan, from whom is named Magh Feadha. The reason Partholon fled to Ireland is that in battling with his brother over the kingdom he killed his father and mother. For this cause he was driven out of the land completely and also why God sent a plague to wipe out all of his people from Ireland.

The Fomorians (Pirates)
Cíocal, son of Nel, son of Garbh, son of Ughmhóir, from Sliabh Ughmhóir came to Ireland in 6 ships with 300 men and 300 women. The name Fomorian means pirate or sea thief. Being descendants of Ham, they feared they could not defeat any of Shem's descendants because of the Noah's curse of Canaan. They came to Ireland and warred with Partholón's descendants many years.

Neimheadh
About 30 years after Partholón's group was destroyed by the plague, Neimheadh, son of Agnoman, son of Pamp, son of Tat, son of Seara, son of Srú, son of Easrú, son of Framant, son of Fathacht, son of Magog, son of Japheth, son of Noah came to settle in Ireland. They came in 34 ships containing 30 persons each.

Firbolg
Simeon Breac
, son of Starn, son of Neimheadh, led a group of 5000 from bondage in Greece to Ireland, 217 years after Niemheadh landed there. This group was known as the Firbolgs. There is a great deal of information about the chieftains of the 5000 and where they settled, the cities they built, and the wars they fought.

Tuatha Dé Danann
Iobath son of Beothach of the posterity of Niemheadh left Ireland and journeyed back to Greece. When a war broke out between Syria and Athens the Tuatha Dé Danann fought with Athens but when Syria defeated the Athenians they left in fear traveling back into Europe and eventually back to Ireland.

Feinius Farsaidh
Boath, son of Magog, son of Japheth, son of Noah, was appointed the first king of Scythia by his father. When he passed the kingdom to his son Feinius Farsaidh, Feinius started a school for the sciences, about 60 years before the fall of the Tower of Babel, or 1933 AM. When the original language, called lingua humana by the Latins or Gortighern, was changed into 70 languages at the fall of the tower, Feinius decided to send students to each group for a space of about 7 years to thoroughly learn each language. Upon coming back he incorporated this into his school teaching at first the 3 principle languages of the world, Greek, Hebrew, and Latin, and later adding many of the others. It is said that because Eber refused to help with the building of the Tower of Babel that he and his family alone retained the original language. From that time forward it was called Hebrew, named after Eber. Feinius' son Niul went from Babylonia to Egypt to set up a school of languages on the Red sea. He married Scota, the daughter of a pharaoh. Scota gave birth to Gaedheal (after who Gaelic is named). Gaedheal migrated to Ireland with his kindred and named his settlement after his mothers name, later changing to Scotland.

Notes:
Keating shows 1656 years from creation to the flood from several ancient sources. He also shows the dates of the fall of the Tower of Babel (1993 AM) and the Exodus (2448 AM) differing by only 6 years in each case.
